Mukluk is Salsa’s most versatile fat bike and offers the most buoyancy on soft surfaces. It is designed to perform in the wide range of riding conditions Fatbike riders are exposed to. Whether you’re methodically trying your first route in the Northwest Territories or tracking the sunlight in Moab, the Mukluk can do it all.

Highlights of the MUKLUK Fatbike

Suspension fork compatible

Developed around Salsa’s Kingpin Deluxe Fatbike fork, this frame can also be used with a 100 mm suspension fork without any problems. The Mukluk Advent X comes with Salsa’s Bearpaw fork.

Mukluk Geometry

The geometry of the Mukluk works great in all conditions and applications, whether it’s riding a prepared single track on the local trail, exploring a beach coast or crossing the wild frozen expanses of Alaska. In essence, Salsa uses the shortest chainstay possible with a head tube angle and fork offset that places the rider’s center of gravity further above the rear wheel. This position and combination of front and rear centre is the key to a fat bike that is stable, steers well in loose conditions and still feels agile and agile despite the massive wheels and tyres. A low bottom bracket height is also crucial to keep the rider’s centre of gravity low and to make it easier to clean, disassemble and reassemble.

Wheel and tire size

The Mukluk rolls on 26 x 4.6″ wheels and tires. This huge tire offers massive traction, stability and optimum volume damping on soft surfaces such as unpaved snow or loose sand.

Alternator Dropouts V1.0

The Alternator dropout delivers incredible drivetrain versatility. Run singlespeed or geared, QR or thru-axle, freehub or Rohloff. Set the Alternator dropouts all the way forward for a shorter wheelbase that results in quick and nimble handling, or set back for more stability—the power is yours.

Dropper Post Compatible

Compatible with 31.6 mm telescopic seat posts for a real trail bike riding experience.

Carrier Compatible

Suitable for use with the Salsa Alternator 190 carrier in conjunction with the Salsa Rack-Lock seat clamp.
