Integrated headset for tapered forks with 1 1/8” to 1.5” steerers and an outer head tube diameter of 55.8 mm. Featuring an angular contact bearing (36° / 45° ACB) and a SRS top cover (Simple Cable Routing System) allowing the internal installation of cables and wires.

FSA offers economic cable routing solutions for any frame with 1.5 inch (upper and lower) head tube. Besides ACR and SMR, SR (Simple Routing) headset system allows all 1.5 inch head tubes to share the advantages of internal cable routing.

 

Building classes of Ahead headsets

Ahead-headsets are divided into the building class, the semi integrated and the full integrated headsets.

The “classical” version has a bearing which is located outside the steerer tube. “Press Fit” and “Drop In” headset bearings are located inside the steerer tube which results in a lower stack height. In contrast to “Press Fit” headsets “Drop In” headsets don’t have to be pressed in. The bearing rests directly on the angled (36° or 45°) surface of the steerer tube.
