Details of the Fjällräven Abisko Padded Vest

Lightweight vest with good packing properties that provides extra warmth on cold summer evenings or when hiking at high altitude. Made of snug polyester material and has a lightweight synthetic filling of G-Loft Supreme. This thoughtfully designed insulating garment warms the upper body without taking up much space in your pack. Two-way front zipper and two roomy pockets to keep hands warm. Elastic binding at sleeve openings and hem.

G-Loft Supreme

Fjällräven’s new synthetic fleece with extremely good insulating properties, even when wet. Exclusively for Fjällräven, the material was developed by insulation experts at Goldeck Textil in Austria.

Just like high-quality down, the unique blend of hollow and ultra-thin polyester fibers – of which 10% is made from recycled polyester – has the natural ability to form “clusters”. This creates many small air pockets that protect the body from the cold. The molecular structure of the fibers exhibits a “memory effect”. After being compressed, they automatically return to their original puffy spiral shape. This ability to regenerate is retained even after repeated washing and constant wear. It is the blend of recycled polyester, which is slightly firmer than natural fibers, that gives this material its unique elasticity.

G-Loft Supreme is also quick drying, durable, highly compressible and easy to care for.

Fjällräven uses G-Loft Supreme in products that need to provide excellent insulation and be extremely waterproof, as well as being lightweight and easy to stow in a backpack or similar – for example, when hiking or paddling.
